Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.

I sit here amazed by this dog.
I am ashamed to say if this were my dog who needed a double amputation, I would have considered his prospect of having a good quality of life after surgery to be poor at best. I am almost positive I would have decided that putting him down would have been the right thing to do for him. I would have been wrong.
Boy, if I didn't see it with my own eyes, I wouldn't have believed how great he gets around on two legs and how happy he is to be alive. I do have concerns about how his remaining legs and joints will fare with the added stress, but I am glad this pup has been given a second chance at life and seems to be enjoying every minute if it!
